3 days in, and the structure of the market
Day 3 of the #dungeon23 goblin market, and so far I’ve written:
- A cozy, poetic goblin who sells sleep-inducing pastries.
- An in-over-his-head bugbear who sells earth-moving beetles.
- A legalistic elf who sells iron rings that force fairies to keep their promises.
And I say “sell”, but I decided that everything in the market should be barter-based. So I’m also including what the vendors will trade for, which has been a fun exercise. I’d like to see PCs run from stall to stall to “trade up” for what they want!
Rather than breaking things into monthly levels as the original #dungeon23 outline recommends, I’ll be doing geomorphs/dungeon tiles of 6 stalls each. By the end of the year, I should have 60 different tiles that can be placed as needed, allowing the market to grow organically as the PCs explore it, and allowing the market to be just a little different each time it’s visited.
My plan at this point is to add a new block of 6 stalls every week, so check back on January 8th for the first tile!
